It’s The Giving Season!

It’s The Giving Season!

The pandemic may have changed the way we’re celebrating the holiday season this year, but it can’t change our commitment to giving back to the communities we love! Whether we’re giving away Thanksgiving meals to families in need or giving back to our residents, Kong Management Group is thankful to celebrate the holiday season with you!

Giving back is always one of the core values at Kong Management Group, but it’s especially important during this season of giving. We encourage you to support your community however you can, and here are some suggestions for you:

  1. Make a donation

If you have items around your home (in good condition) that you no longer need or extras that you think someone else could use, now is a great time to donate. Whether you’re giving away clothes, children’s toys, or an old cell phone, your gifts-in-kind can fill a need and make an immediate difference to someone else!

  1. Make a financial contribution

Money is tight for many of us during this time of pandemic, and that means fundraising is down for most nonprofit organizations. If you are able to make a cash donation, your favorite nonprofit would definitely appreciate it!

  1. Organize a fundraiser or drive

Another way to support a cause is with a fundraiser or drive. With the help of social media, online fundraisers are a great option and are COVID-safe. If there’s a specific need in your community (like a shortage of food at a local pantry), a drive might help solve it! Fundraiser and drives are both are great ways to foster community spirit while giving back!

  1. Volunteer your time

Many nonprofit or community organizations are understaffed and need a helping hand. Your time as a volunteer is valuable! Consider places you frequent, like your church, and ask how you can assist them.

  1. Recognize those who serve

Sometimes giving back to the community simply comes in the form of giving thanks. You can drop off treats to a local fire station, police station, or hospital. You also can partner with local veteran’s organizations or military bases to thank the troops.

  1. Spread the word

Telling people about your cause is another easy (and free) way to give back! Whether you post on social media or just tell your social circle about it, you’re helping to raise community awareness!

Now that we’ve discussed some ways you can give back, we want to tell you what we’re doing to support our community! Every year, Kong Management Group organizes an annual Thanksgiving event in Hallandale Beach, Florida, where we give away free Thanksgiving dinners to families in need. Instead of the typical gathering, this year we hosted a COVID-19 safe, drive thru event at Ebenezer M. B. Church on Monday, November 23, 2020. We distributed 150 complete meals, including a whole turkey, traditional sides, and dessert – and we hope that we filled Thanksgiving tables with joy!

In addition to coordinating community events, the staff at Kong Management Group shows our residents that they care every day. We manage properties throughout Central and South Florida, and it’s important to us that we are building community connections in each location. When the pandemic is over, we look forward to resuming pot-luck dinners, community garage sales, clubs, bowling leagues, and other gatherings at our properties in Hallandale Beach, Tampa Bay, and Zephyrhills.

But it’s not just about celebrating holidays together and planning community parties! Especially during the COVID-19 crisis, we know some of our residents are struggling, and our property managers are here are a resource. Kong Management Group partners with local nonprofit organizations, such as One Community Now, Women in Distress, and St. Vincent de Paul, to make sure our residents have the food, support, and access to services they need.

Kong Management Group also recognizes the need for affordable housing in our community, especially for seniors and military veterans. That’s why we work closely with the local housing authority, through programs like the Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers and the HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH), to offer safe, affordable, and sustainable housing options. Our goal is to be the community’s go-to resource for housing and to make every resident’s rental experience the best it can be.

Kong Management Group is family owned and operated, and we want that sense of family to extend to you! If you’re interested in being part of our community or joining us in giving back to others, contact us at 866-499-9026 or email info@kongmg.com.
